TALAMANTI is both a project and a growing body of work centered on the rich sonic potential of piano and mallet percussion. Inspired by the distinct qualities of this rare instrumentation, the project seeks to uncover the limitless possibilities that emerge when these two worlds converge. In collaboration with the visionary pianist Sylvie Courvoisier, the duo delves into the full expressive range of their instruments—exploring texture, resonance, and improvisational depth. Together, they aim to forge a new collective language, expanding the legacy of this unconventional pairing within the realms of jazz and experimental music. TALAMANTI made its debut with a premiere performance at Roulette in Brooklyn, NY, on December 6, 2023 during Brennan’s Jerome Foundation‑funded residency.
